THE KLF MIDDLE GRADE & YOUNG ADULT
MENTORSHIP PROGRAM 

Empowering the Next Generation of African Storytellers

The KLF Middle Grade and Young Adult Mentorship Program nutures writers and illustrators aged 10-16 with the tools, confidence, and mentorship needed become storytellers of  tomorrow and tell powerful stories of their own.

 What is the KLF Mentorship Program?

The KLF Mentorship Program is a structured, immersive, multi-phase journey that supports young creatives through every stage of storytelling — from concept to creation to performance.​

Public Speaking

Brainstorming Story Ideas,

building characters and compelling plots,

learning narrative structure and storytelling techniques.

Exploring visual storytelling,

Learning how to match words with pictures,

Enhancing storytelling impact through imagery.

Strengthening clarity and consistency,
Learning the art of self-editing and revising, Working with real editors for manuscript polish. 

Gaining confidence to present their stories aloud,

Developing strong communication and stage presence,

This mentorship covers the foundations of storytelling, writing, and editing over the course of four Saturdays, from July 4th to July 25th. Sessions will be interactive, creative, and structured to help you develop strong storytelling skills.

  • Four Saturdays of guided mentorship, creative learning, and practical support from KLF facilitators.
