The KLF Mentorship Program nurtures young African writers and illustrators aged 8–16, equipping them with the tools, confidence, and mentorship needed to become the storytellers of tomorrow.

 What is the KLF Mentorship Program?

The KLF Mentorship Program is a structured, immersive, multi-phase journey that supports young creatives through every stage of storytelling — from concept to creation to performance.​

Brainstorming Story Ideas,

building characters and compelling plots,

learning narrative structure and storytelling techniques.

Exploring visual storytelling,

Learning how to match words with pictures,

Enhancing storytelling impact through imagery.

Learning the art of self-editing and revising, Working with real editors for manuscript polish. 

Gaining confidence to present their stories aloud,

Over the course of the 2025 program, our mentors helped their mentees create complete picture books, build lasting confidence, and develop practical creative skills.

This mentorship covers the foundations of picture book writing, editing, illustrating, and public speaking over one week, from April 27th to May 1st. Sessions will be interactive, creative, and structured to help you develop strong storytelling skills.

Programme Fee: ₦60,000 per participant This fee covers:

  • One week of guided mentorship with KLF facilitators

  • Workshop activities and learning support

  • Access to session materials and final showcase participation

Payment will be made at the end of this form.

Capacity Notice: Spaces are limited to 25 mentees and will be allocated on a first-confirmed basis.
